Well, only one full-day to go out at the work site. Today we did some more painting in the church, and we moved more stones from the river to the hole dug for the septic tank at Elvia's house.

Experiences in Bongo

This is my second year coming to Panama and each year has been a wonderful experience. I believe that the best part is feeling and being treated by the Panamanians like I am their family.
Bongo Clinic

For the seventh year we have a team at the clinic in Bongo. The clinic serves five small agricultural communities, totaling around 2,500 inhabibants. Most of our patients are women, children and very senior seniors. The men are working, usually at manual labor.

We have been here in Volcan for an entire week. It is hard to believe. The food that Beti prepares is wonderful. The view of the sun rising from the caldera of Volcan Baru every morning is, well, you'd just have to see it.
Children's Sunday at Jacu

This morning, Sunday, July 15, the Mission Team joined the folks at Jacu for worship and to celebrate Children's Sunday, an annual event which seems to coincide with our visits here. Today the theme was "cowboys." (Last year it was Hawiian.)

Gray day, Sunday morning - started well - ahead of schedule and a Panamanian breakfast at Waikiki (What's that? A beach in Hawaii, silly) instead of MacDonald's. We settle into the long ride to Volcan. Bumpy ride in the bus as the Pan American highway is a misnomer.
